ENGLISH GRAND PRIX SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIPS |
The English
Grand Prix, a legacy born from the highly successful 2006 British
Open, is one of the most exciting and prestigious events on the
men’s professional World Tour, featuring the world’s leading
players.
Event Format:
Strategically positioned on the squash calendar immediately prior to
the British Open, the world’s most important, prestigious and
longest established championships, the English Grand Prix will
attract the world’s leading players.
All iSPORTmanagment™ players will compete in the inaugural
English Grand Prix including; Lee Beachill (World No.1 & 3
time British Champion), James Willstrop (World No.2),
Anthony Ricketts (World No.3), Karim Darwish (World
No.5), Nick
Matthew (World No.5), Adrian Grant (World No.11),
Peter Barker (World No.21), Christopher Gordon (US No.1),
Laurence Delasaux (European & British Junior Champion 2004)
and Chris Simpson (European & British Junior Champion 2005).
Additionally, the championship’s minimum total prize money fund of
$60,000 and proximity to the British Open, is likely to ensure that
the event will attract all leading non iSPORTmanagement™
players, including Amr Shabana (2 time World Champion), David Palmer
(3 time British Open Champion) and Ong Beng Hee
(Asian Champion).
As well as featuring the leading male and female professional
players, a full programme of masters (Over 35, Over 40, Over 45,
Over 50, Over 55, Over 60, Over 65 and Over 70) and junior (Under
11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19) events attract over
500 competitors, representing the elite of the UK .squash community
Spectator Audience:
With action focused around the spectacular all-glass show court,
over 3,000 spectators will attend the championships throughout the
duration of the event.

70countries, television coverage can reach a potential audience of
