BRITISH GRAND PRIX SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIPS |
The British
Grand Prix is a unique and pioneering new championship which has
quickly established itself as one of the most exciting and
prestigious events on the men’s professional squash calendar.
The inaugural British Grand Prix was staged in 2004 and each year
its star studded eight man player line-up has comprised the world’s
very best players, including World Champions Amr Shabana,
Peter Nicol, David Palmer, Thierry Lincou, and
Lee Beachill and John White, all of whom have been ranked
World No.1, British Open Champion Anthony Ricketts, British
National Champion Nick Matthew, and former World Junior
Champions Karim Darwish and James Willstrop.
Event Format:
The British Grand Prix offers a total prize money fund in excess of
$50,000. The championship’s unique format features two pool of four
players, leading to positional play-offs and a Championship Final to
produce a 1-8 finish.
As well as featuring leading male professional players, a full
programme of masters (Over 35, Over 40, Over 45, Over 50, Over 55,
Over 60, Over 65 and Over 70) and junior (Under 11, Under 13, Under
15, Under 17 and Under 19) events attract over 400
competitors, representing the elite of the UK squash community.
Spectator Audience:
With action focused around the spectacular all-glass show court
throughout the
duration of the event.over 2,500 spectators attend the championships

Broadcast internationally through a special package to over 70
countries, television coverage can reach a potential audience of
